Advice pls re item sold

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can offer advise pls.
I sold a coat on eBay which I clearly stated was a size 8.
The purchaser has received the coat and wants a refund as she says it's a size 4 (which it's not!). She's German however and she may have got european and uk sizes confused, although she never queried this before winning the auction.
It was a lot of effort to package and post the item to Germany and I really don't want the item back to sell again when I feel that I've done nothing wrong.
Any advice please?

Does the coat have the size label in it?
If so, tell the buyer to look at the label.
Maybe also tell her the difference between euro sizes and UK sizes.
I wouldn't refund, it's not your fault, the buyer should have known that sizes are not the same all over the world!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
only way i would refund is at the buyers cost to return minus listing fee's & original P&P.0

I always find selling clothes problematic but in this case I would ask the same question as shellsuit, what did it say on the label? If it says it was a UK size 8 and was liste don ebay uk. then that is what she got and if that is the case I would be prepared to let the buyer go to a chargeback and fight it..a paypal decision could go either way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Might be an idea in future to include actual measurements in the listing,as buyers can compare them with an existing garment to see if it will fit.
I am sure I am not the only woman with many sizes in my wardrobe ,all fitting me! Some with more flattering size labels than others!:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
Thanks all for your replies.
I've explained the difference between US/UK/EUR sizes and the buyer concedes it's their mistake.
A valuable lesson for me though in listing items in future.0 -

Thanks for updating, at least the buyer saw the error of her ways
