Hard pruning Ceanothus

Mine seems to like being pruned hard. I wouldn't recommend moving one,I moved one once but it didn't survive.0

It's a general principal that Spring flowering shrubs be pruned after they finished flowering. This is because all next year's flowers come from the new growth made during this year.0

We had a Ceanothus which grew larger than expected. We used to cut it back to bare wood every few years and it flourished. I was amazed at how new shoots would push their way out of older woody branches - it made it a good dense bush.0
