Debenhams overcharged sale items- any luck with refunds?

Hope someone can give me the benefit of their experience... this is a bit long-winded sorry
Went away for the weekend to Bournemouth, and bought some lovely shoes in the debs sale on Saturday, (£40 down to £12) along with loads of other sale items
and in a big rush, heavily pregnant friend about to cry from hormone surge at overwhelming sale bargains etc etc so didn't check total just handed over my birthday vouchers.
Wore lovely shoes out on Saturday night, then through my fuzzy head on Sunday night back at home realised that the total they had charged me was £28 too high- they'd put the shoes through at the non-sale price, the dingbats.
I will be going to the Gloucester store tomorrow (cone closest to home) and fingers crossed they have the same shoes at the sale price so they will be able to confirm that they owe me money. What I'm worried about is if the shoes aren't actually reduced and someone in the Bournemouth store just made a mistake in labelling them. As I've thrown the labels away and worn the shoes are my chances of getting my £28 back virtually zero as feared or do they have a reputation for customer good will gestures?
Thanks in advance, and for reading my tale of woe

I used to work for Debenhams and I think the best thing for you to do would be to firstly phone the store you purchased the shoes in and ask to speak to the shoe dept manager. Explain your problem and ask them to confirm the price of the shoes. You could describe the shoes, give make or brand, colour etc and they should know which ones you mean, fingers crossed. You could also try looking on line at the debenhams stock to see if they are on there if they are make a note of the name and item number.
Once you have hopefully confirmed the price of the shoes on the day you bought them you can ask the manager/member of staff to advise you of the best course of action. If they were mispriced then you may have to plead your case to the person in the original store. If they were correctly priced and the tills were wrong then they should in theory tell you that you can return to any store to collect your refund or post you vouchers but for thid I imagine they would want to see the receipt.
I deffo think you should begin by calling the original store and finding out as much as you can as that is the only way of finding out if they were mispriced or the tills were wrong. HTH and post back if you need any more help, I can't do much more without knowing where the fault occured.0 -

I had similar situation, bought reduced item in Eastbourne but back home in Cornwall realised wrong price. Didn't have receipt but as I had paid on Debenhams card they could trace the payment, I told them the time and amount roughly. They then could see I had been overcharged. It take take a lot of effort on some very helpful staff but may be worth chasing.0

I find you get overcharger alot in Debenhams when the sales are on always check your receipt in the store or better stillwatch the price as they scan them in0

Thanks everyone they've said they will refund the difference- phew! And there was me thinking I was a fairly seasoned sale shopper- will remember in future to check price at point of sale and not be sidetracked! -:o-0
