hi, i thought i would add that we are in lincolnshire so maybe every council are different but i am allowed 6 hens in my garden but no cockrel due to the noise... but dont have any anymore as we have a hungry fox also....and i love mine more free range... they even would get in the house given a chance. i wrote and got permission from the council and maybe best to so they dont get any reports from neighbours who are jealous lol....
good on you i dont blame you and fresh eggs each day will be great...

Mum has chickens & the eggs are amazing! The yolks are really yellow & they just taste brilliant. They don't have an eglu but have converted part of the garage & have an outside run for them too - but they love running around in the garden. I think mum has around 10 chickens & a cockerel.

We had a vote on the colour. lol. Red came a close second.
They are expensive but I kinda feel like I've won enough now to treat myself to something, especially seeing as hubby's had a new laptop, car and weekend away with his mates from my wins and I've not really had anything for myself.

aww lovely..we had a hen hut and large pen and up to 20 birds when i was smaller, i loved collecting the eggs..naming them is the fun bit
