The fees for small amount may also be prohibitive.
I wonder what a 16 year old has been doing to get foreign currency cheques?
I'm thinking of getting in to internet marketing. Most big sites pay by cheque and in dollars.0 -
The last time I asked HSBC about paying in a non sterling cheque they wanted to charge me £12..so be prepared!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Some on-line survey sites send you cheques in Dollards - I've had this before.0 -
You might want to try auctionchex.com, as the fee will be less for a small cheque than what HSBC want.0

If so as he is a minor he cannot legally enter into a contract and I go back to my first posting about this?0 -
You mean a CHEQUE and not a CHECK...........
Well it is in $ so I suppose the american mispelling is acceptable!
Google pay in $ by check, sorry cheque but pay in £ by bank transfer. (at least they used to and i have been paid by BT for so long no idea if they still do).I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
Neither. The £12 (variable) is for converting to the same currency as your account. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Not really - it's more or less the going rate. Until we move to a single currency (and the US is unlikely to join!) it's the price you have to pay for accepting funds in other than £Sterling. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
