Thanks for this. I got an email with a code but, as far as I can understand the message in German, it was a code saving me 40% on purchasing Norton Antibot. The link in the email took me to a web page (in German) offering the programme for sale at 29.99 euros.
I'm not too keen on downloading anything from http://spftrl.digitalriver.com/pub/s...etup_en_US.exe
when I can't properly understand the information in German.
Any tekkies out there who can offer information/reassurance?

I Did Get On In Time And Now Have 366 Days Free Subscription!!
    Great! Thanks
  • Ive done this just now and it worked a treat.. The email just lets you know you can get 40% off all OTHER Norton products, ignore that though.. its the serial number at the top of the email you need:
Ihr Produktschlüssel für Norton AntiBot lautet: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Download & Install the program http://spftrl.digitalriver.com/pub/symantec/tbyb/NAM/Norton_AntiBot_setup_en_US.exe

When installed it will pop up with a message saying that the trial will expire in 15 days.. select 'I have a Product Key and will enter it now' then OK...

Copy & paste the product key into the box and BAM! A years free subscription!
And from what I have read its pretty good too.. unlike the complete c**p that Norton AntiVirus is.. NOD32 all the way!

Hope it helps ya! Its still FREE!!!

  • Its not a dodgy Warez site.. The product key request is on norton's site (norton.com) it is a german pc magazine 'Computer Bild' that is giving away a free subscription for Norton AntiBot (the same as our UK magazines give away premium software).

The other link is merely a direct link to the software without having to fill in your details on the norton site.. But if you want to get it from there then go ahead if you think its dodgy.. Its not.. 100% Legit .. Thanks alot dazg!
  • Ok, sorry, after closer inspection, this seems to be a legit offer.

(The site the OP gave for downloading Norton AntiBot is a warez site though. That's 100% the case. Just googgle "spftrl.digitalriver.com" and you'll get links to copyrighted material hosted on that site).

I've used Norton before - and spent money via the legit site only for it to completely knack my pc - I've steered clear of them ever since - and no, I'm not posting this because I lost money - it's just that I don't want other people to download or whatever and find they have problems...saying that, this was about a year and a half ago and a new hard drive later...
All these years since I left school and I've never once had to use Algebra
