  • yeah, its more expensive than I expected - certainly more than we paid, however, a double room and breakfast for 2 is E91 per night too, which is not as bad!

Will have a look at the priceline site when I get home, never heard of it before. We have got a while to sort it but i'd rather find somewhere now than leave it til last minute.

    Thanks everyone again.

I didn't stay there but the IBIS is close to the train station so really in the centre, and all sorts of buses and trams leave from the station. There are also buses to the nearby villages (we stayed in Volendam and the bus took us right to the train station). Some friends stayed a few years ago and recommended it in terms of location.
If you read other reviews here, there appears to be a renovation taking place:

If you do choose this one, don't forget there is quidco via the accor link.
  • Thank you for the above post..

I have been offered the Bellevue at £148 for two nights with cont. bfast and 6% back at quidco.... so thinking of that offer but also been reading threads about priceline so juggling with that idea too....:rotfl:

    Any advice? thanks in advance..:T
  • Begod!!! 91 euro's for a hostel priv. room?
you don't go until oct. so there's loads of time to research.
the hostel rate is way too pricey, espec. as you're going out of season.

you're only 19 but you ask savvy questions.respect.

take glen's advice and look at priceline. or consider somewhere like eindhoven(30 mins away), which is a good base ( and cheaper). you can see amsterdam/club/get mullered and still have time to get the train back.

all the eurozone has got v.expensive 'cos of the £ slide.

I've stayed in amsterdam a few times but in hotels that might be unsuitable for you ( pricey, I mean and a bit middle-aged, like me).

    but 91 euro's for a hostel!!??

    no.
sorry I can't be of more help.other mse'rs should hook up to this and post.

    a pleasant trip.

p.s if you're half interested in art then check out the van gogh museum in the Peoples' park. well worth a dabble. you might be eligible for concessions.

Sorry i don't know how to put in boxes...... help!!!

That price is very high for a Hostal see my post two above and you can check out the hotel on trip advisor which has some excellent advice..:T

    Hope this helps;)

The Bellevue hotel is a great hotel. We stopped there in November last year. It is ideally situated close to the Station and the staff were brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone. :j
  • Cheers for that am actually paying tomorrow for hotel just debating wether to take my chances with priceline for a bit of luxury, but the bellevue looks lovely and all feedback etc on trip adviser is positive..:T
