Not sure what BT package with TalkTalk

Hi everyone,

I've signed up to Talk Talk but I'm a bit confused what BT package to go onto, I'm on their Option 1 at the mo and on Talk Talk's website it says:

~*~*~*~*~

TalkTalk offer competitive alternatives to the BT Together packages. To make the maximum savings you should ask BT to move you back to Option 1 and to direct debit only the monies owed on each bill. This can be done by calling BT on 150. Please check that you won't incur any charges for doing this.

~*~*~*~*~*

My whole point of changing to Talk Talk was to save money as I'm currently on BT's Option 1 package I wanted to save the £29.36 they are charging me for this package. If I stay with Option 1 I will still be paying for it.

Can anyone advise me please? :)

Thanks in advance

Lisa

Yes you still pay BT for line rental (only) at £10.50 - but your calls are routed through TalkTalk (once you sign up  :) ). Then you get 12 months free of evening and w/e calls. I think I replied to a previous post of yours that sign up to 18866 and you get peak time calls at 1p connection then its a free call.

    Hi allthatmalurky,

You did reply to another message, that's why I signed up to Talk Talk :) Thank you again for that info :)

I was confused by the BT Option 1 as I'm paying them nearly £30 for that option and on the T'Talk site it said to stay on that package, but then I went onto BT's site and it has under the Option 1 'from £10.50' so I just need to contact them and get them to put me on the lower of their Option 1 package!

Thanks again for your reply, I do appreciate it :)

Check the prices for 0845 and 0870 non-geographical numbers. 0845 is cheaper with BT at all times and 0870 is cheaper with BT at the weekend (and the same for daytime and evening). ;)

Lisa - are you sure the £30 you refer to is a monthly charge (not quarterly ?) - the £10.50 by DD is a monthly charge.

Ok I have to own up now - I'm a complete nut head, the £30 I was referring to is of course the £10.50 charge - how stupid of me :-X

I was looking at the bill as if it's a monthly one and not quarterly <doh> I can't believe how thick I'm feeling right now LOL!

At least I've done something right this w/e and that's to sign up to Talk Talk, so I'll get my evenings and w/e's free and 30 mins to a mobile. Now I'm just going to have a lie down as I think I need some sleep!
