Closing bank account, HELP !!!

Hi, im hopefully going to uni in september and have opened a student account with natwest (about 5 days ago). I want to go with Halifax now as they have a better account (i need the larger o/d). What is the process about closing the acount and opening a new one. I have just received the card from natwest and have not activated it.
Any help on the situation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

not sure what others would say, maybe worthwhile going into natwest and teling them the situation, i know they can change the overdraft value v. easily0
-
how do u go about getting it changed0
-
you go into the bank and speak to some1 in there...if you can provide them with a reason they normally change it...there fairly flexible (within reasons)...after all they REALLY want to keep you normally0
-
so it would be good going in and saying i want to move unless they give me a better offer, ill report back tomorrow, goin in in the morning and gonna see what they say, thanks for your help.

yer...go in with the o/draft that halifax have physically printed somewhere0

right, went in this morning. Natwest did not do anything, but said that i could extend the o.d but not at 0%, so now im trying to open another student a/c and have two.0

i dont beleive you are legally allowed to have 2 interest free overdraft accounts...although i maybe mistaken0

I don't think it's illegal, just that some of the student accounts require you to sign to say that that will be your only student account and/or that your student loan or whatever support you're getting will be paid in there. Look at the article link to all the student accounts - there weren't many, tbh! - to see which do and don't allow you to do this.NellyLock wrote:i dont beleive you are legally allowed to have 2 interest free overdraft accounts...although i maybe mistakenSignature removed for peace of mind0 -
