Closing bank account, HELP !!!

Hi, im hopefully going to uni in september and have opened a student account with natwest (about 5 days ago). I want to go with Halifax now as they have a better account (i need the larger o/d). What is the process about closing the acount and opening a new one. I have just received the card from natwest and have not activated it.

Any help on the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

you go into the bank and speak to some1 in there...if you can provide them with a reason they normally change it...there fairly flexible (within reasons)...after all they REALLY want to keep you normally

I don't think it's illegal, just that some of the student accounts require you to sign to say that that will be your only student account and/or that your student loan or whatever support you're getting will be paid in there. Look at the article link to all the student accounts - there weren't many, tbh! - to see which do and don't allow you to do this.
