solicitors in Birmingham

Options
Can anyone recommend a solicitor in Birmingham? I would prefer a local firm.
I have rang round for a few quotes, but don't have any personal recommendations as none of my friends have bought a house yet!
Preferably cheap but obviously need good service too.
Also one that includes all the costs (eg photocopying) in their quote as I don't want to get stuck with loads of extras.

House 135k freehold, straightforward sale with mortgage, nothing to sell.

Thanks

Most were around 400-500 for their fees, plus all other costs and stamp duty.

One was 350 for their costs as they had a promotion running. This seemed the best obviously and they were very friendly but that means nothing;)

Thursfields in Kidderminster are very efficient. They aren't the cheapest though.

Kerwoods in Redditch have been our buyers'/vendors' solicitors on several occassions and things have been pretty stress free and quick. They're either very good or they don't ask enough questions!

I did a quote on the system that I use and I found a firm in Birmingham with an 85% recommendation level that was about £570-90 all in.

System I use is all inclusive so that would be final price.

There was one in Coventry that had a 92% recommendation level - not much diff in price either.

When you are getting quotes, you need to ask them to send you a full quote.

They were all quoting nearer to £800-1000 all inclusive +stamp duty.
Mostly they did give me all inclusive costs but I kept getting all confused because some added stamp duty, some didn't.

Sorry, when you said straight forward sale, I thought you were selling. Clearly misunderstood.

£2070 all inc (not local) with 85% recommendation level

one in birmingham was 2147 all inc.

Apologies for the confusion. Hope that helps you measure what is good value.

Sorry didn't make that clear at all when I read it back!

    Thanks for that.
