in Credit cards
Hi can anyone help?
I've got a credit card with EGG with a maximum limit of £3700 at the mo I'm £3596.54 into that!
Just called virgin to see if they could give me 15 mnths 0% balance transfer but they can only offer me £2000 limit!
U see I only earn £8000 but I had my partner as a second card holder on EGG.
1.)Can I get a low rate card or 0% card with a limit to cover my debt?
2.)Will I have to put him down as a second card holder again.
They said they couldn't give it to me coz its half my wages and I have to live etc but my partner pays the bills/rent and I only have to pay petrol and food!
I hope this makes sense, with hope.......

You may be able to get a different card with a higher limit but your wages are very low for a £4000 limit.
You are being credit checked and the debt will be your sole responsibility, adding your partner as an additional card holder will not increase your limit - anything your partner spends on the card is ultimately your responsibility.
I would transfer the max to the 0% card and concentrate on paying off the high rate card.
The other "option" or solution is something I read on the forum a few months ago.
A young lad was applying for cards and the application said "household" income.
I have always taken this to be my income - probably the same as you.
This poster had taken it to be the combined of everyone in the house so the app was done with 2 parents and a siblings combined salary - hey presto massive credit limit.
This was apparently what the advisor on the phone said was correct.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Have just read another thread and it said the same sort of thing about applying for an asda card as they use the household income!
Well anything is worth a go!:o0 -
UUhhh got approved but only for £2750!!!
1.)Can I get 2 CC with £2000 limit with 2 different companies??0 -
Hello lofty - What do you need more debt for?0
-
I don't need more debt. I'm tryin to clear some but with 21% apr its gettin to be abit ridiculous if u know wat I mean!0

Oh, I get it (sorry), you are trying to transfer to a lower rate.
Very sensible.
Could you consider a loan with a lower rate? or could your partner get a 0% card to transfer it onto?0 -
Well I think I'm going to transfer the 2000 into 0% for 15 mths try paying off rest at 21.9%apr then transfer it all in about a yrs time to another 0%. Prob can't get a loan. He hasn't got a great credit rating but its getting better only another 2yrs then his slates wiped clean. But tryin to get it all under control to save for a deposit!!!!!
Well thanx for the help prob log back in later to c if theres any updates!
Thanx0
