Travelodge Hemel Hempsted..any good?

Hi folks, I'm thinking about booking the Hemel Hempsted Travelodge (£45 per night family room) for our 4 day trip to Legoland.

Is there anyone who has stayed there or knows the hotels locality. Is it an old or newish hotel. Is the location ok, safe for parking etc. Are the staff friendly is there good eating places within walking distance?

Many thanks in advance for your info:cheesy:

  • i don't know why you are thinking of staying in hemel while you take a 4 day trip to legoland .
it's a good 30 miles between the 2 places and you will be travelling on some of the busiest roads in europe.

Totally agree with Hammy about that. A41 and M25 anticlockwise in the mornings are a nightmare. I know I'm usually stuck on them :(

Also four days sounds like an awful long time to be going round Legoland. I have been their a couple of times and one day was well long enough. Are you planning to visit other places e.g. Thorpe Park, Chessington etc

There are Travel Lodges in Slough and Windsor which are practically on the doorstep of Legoland. The Hemel one is in the centre of Hemel, close to all the shops, pubs, restaurants and fast food joints (of which there are many)

I'd say 45 minutes to get to Legoland on a good day and 1.5 hours or more on a bad one. I live near there and dread it in the school holidays when my son asks to be taken out somewhere round that part of the M25.

We visited Legoland last year and after 5 hours we'd had enough and went home.

Just a note for other forum members - I see the OP has now booked accomodation elsewhere as shown on her other thread.
