    Put the rashers in a cold pan, use a medium heat.

    You basically need to remove as much fat as possible during the cooking if you want them crisp, pouring it off isn't sufficient you need something to soak it up as they cook. Three sheets of kitchen roll is what's required for four rashers (lay one on top of the rashers when they first go in, will quickly draw the fat out of them)- not very economical but it's what works. I also use slices of bread since it makes them taste good.

    I tried this and it worked really well - mine took 6 pieces of kitchen roll though - don't know if it was fatty bacon or cheap kitchen roll!

    I cook mine in the oven. I use a baking tray with a cooling tray over the top with the bacon on (make sure you line the tray with foil to collect the fat). It comes out lovely like this and I have to hid it before the kids eat it :)
