Hi, can anyone offer any feedback on the BT Verve 500 phone, I'm thinking of buying after problems with another new phone. It seems to be a good buy and has loads of features including answer machine which is a must for my small business.
Also I have found a seller on e-bay offering the quad set in black for £104.94 inc delivery, is it wise to buy this sort of item from e-bay. The next best price I can find is £149.68 from a site called PMC telecom so a saving of £44.74 is possible but I'm always a bit sceptical about e-bay with the idea that it must be dodgy if it's that much cheaper.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Mike, I hope you didn't buy this phone.
If I had seen this question earlier I would have advised you not to touch this BT Verve 500 phone with a bargepole, it's rubbish.
We purchased a triple handset model in early 2008. It worked OK for a while then more often than not, when answering a call, the phone didn't connect and continued to ring. It usually took 3-4 presses of the answer button before it answered.
BT advised resetting the handsets and base which cured the problem in the short term. I have to reset them every few weeks now for them to work "properly". In addition you need very small fingers to be able to press the right button, wrong numbers are regularly dialled. It's advisable to press the buttons with your nail. Anything bigger and you'll press two at a time.
It won't be too long before they're sent for recycling.0 -
Seems that you purchased around the same time as the OP.

Hi Mike hope you found alternative phones as I would agree they are simply the worst phones we ever purchased we now have some research to do ourselves to find decent phones that actually justify there price tag as these certainly don't.Hi, can anyone offer any feedback on the BT Verve 500 phone, I'm thinking of buying after problems with another new phone.
