Sounds like my ex too - on friendsreunited he has stated that he has 2 children and is happy where I am. How lovely except he has 3 children!!!0

I chose to bring my son into this world i will pay for everything that he needs, if his deadbeat of a father doesn't want to have anything to do with his son then fine..
Good on you, a woman with guts and the believing she can do it on her own. The father wins financially but emotionally and the fact he will play no rule in your childs life means you're the winner at the end of the day. If he doesn't want to pay, what kind of dad will he be anyway?
If only all woman were as strong as you.
Well done:T0 -
Are all of you self suffiicient with your children?i.e.no tax credits,H.B.,income support,I.B, etc as in you all work, pay for your house, bills, without help in any capacity from the gvt when you chose to drop csa?0

Personally, i've not dropped the CSA, i've just given up hope. Ex tends to disappear when CSA catch up with him. He's left several jobs as soon as they catch up with him, and mostly claims JSA and works on the side.
I work part time to fit in with school and receive some tax credits. Bills, rent, council tax etc are all paid in full as i earn too much (ha ha) to receive any other benefits.0 -
Just shows how nieve the government are when they say that amicable agreements will be so easy to sort out. Actually there are so many issues relating to break ups, and children etc that I think they (and David Henshaw) are living on cloud cuckoo land.
The other issue is that when JC+ use the better off calc to include CSM, that becomes unreliable or non existant, then how can they expect parents to move off benefit, especially when the threshold will start moving up to £40pw.Nothing to see here :beer:0 -
Quite! I have too never claimed benefits - I had no choice but to go to the CSA, well I did, but the choice was either have no support or the chance of support. I don't lose. It took a long time but I won and he coughed up in the end although he still owes over 3k which is being pursued.
I agree that the Government are living in cloud cuckoo land where private agreements are concerned - there is already the facility to make such agreements - only those on benefits are compelled to comply and claim via CSA. The rest of us can either go without or claim. The number of claims out there means that private agreements are not so easy to come by!!0 -

Maintenance has no bearing on Tax Credits claims and if you're on IS the government takes the lion share anyway so your post has no relevance.Mummy to 4, Grafter, Comper, Blogger

I appreciate everyone's circumstances are different...i however have always said that my son could have contact with his father but this never materialised into anything. He saw his son twice when he was 2 years old then in later years he phoned him twice on the second phone call he thought it would be highly amusing to tell his son that he would phone him next week at a certain time and guess what he never did phone him back, infact i got several txt messages from him gloating how funny it was that my autistic child was sitting waiting for that phone call.
He got back in contact again last year to gloat that his CSA payments would be reduced as he was having another child with another woman and he carried on to say how his new child was not an accident unlike my son, and that he was so in love with this other woman unlike me a fat sl*g (his words  )
Does he bother with my child NO he even goes as far to state on another website that infact he only has 1 child...
face bovvvvered not any longer.0 -
He hasnt won, you have. You provide for your child. Your child will know you have done everything you possibly can to look after them and make them into the person they are. forget that dead beat0
