paying off a cc with another

Can you pay one card off with another?

I booked a holiday for my bro on my Amex to get the miles and he can't pay me until a week or so after the payment is due and I don't have the money in my current account, so to stop paying any interest could I pay that card off with my Mastercard?!?

Can you do that??

If you pay off one CC with another over the phone as if it was a debit card payment... it will not be classed as a purchase but almost certainly be classed as a cash advance transaction (which has no interest free grace period like purchases).

In order to pay off one cc with another at a half decent rate u need to do a balance transfer... but again this has no interest free grace period. If you can't get the money for a week, it's probably just best to pay the minimum and pay the rest when you can. There's not really any way of getting out of the interest from what i can see.
