Hello all!
Can anyone give me some ideas of things to do in Hopton?
We have never been on a Caravan holiday before and have booked with Haven to use my tesco vouchers. Hopton looks very nice as do all the haven parks in the brochures, so hopefully it will turn out ok.
I have 2 young children but dont want to spend too much time in Yarmouth as it is over comercialised and money grabbing/wasting... any other ideas you well travelled people....? nice farms or places to visit locally?
Thanks for your help, and any advise you can offer on Hopton Holiday park would also be welcomed. Thanks

We have been to Hopton twice and really loved it.
The site is clean and tidy as were the caravans on both our visits. The pools are great, our kids loved them and the play area is in a nice enclosed area so they can run amok while you have a relax.
Petits Animal Park I think it is called is about ten miles away and is a theme park for younger children with lots of rides and a small animal farm where the kids can feed goats and sheep etc.
Gorleston is a nice little seaside village which when we went had an area with lots of bouncy castles trampolines and various other outdoor toys, a crazy golf and a nice cafe which was very cheap and the kids could stay as long as they liked. Also there is a lovely beach here.
Hope that helps.

I would recommend Petits as well, we took ds two years ago and he loved it and wants to go back this year. The kids rides were great and there is a train that goes all round the park. We stayed at Seashore in Great Yarmouth and the reception office had money off and we could even get our tickets from them slightly cheaper than if we just paid when we got there not sure if Hopton will do this but woth checking out.
Tbh we didnt go out of haven too much as son loved the kids clubs and all the entertainment that was on offer.
For those that have been to Hopton I was wondering if they had a soft play area ? and if so how big was it? Caistor has one which takes up the top floor above the restuarant(well it did last year dont know if they have moved it). How big was the swimming pool ? Did they have a seperate kids entertainment venue at night and was it quite big?
Sorry for all the q's but having been to both Seashore & Caistor we are considreing Hopton as a change but not quite sure if it will offer as much.Brendan's new dance partner...please

Hi!
We love going to Hopton and i used my tesco vouchers to book our weeks hol there last year.
The kids love the beach there and the pool is good.
We went to Cromer last year to look for rockpools but didn't find anything:rolleyes: .
We always do the sealife centre and try and avoid all the amusement arcades if we can.
Hope you have a good time.0 -
Have not been to the site mentioned but did take our children to 2 other Haven Parks and found them very good value but that was some years ago. Have been spending lots of time in North Norfolk for last 36 years and this was where our children got to go in most of their school holidays. We were never lost for things to do - it does get busy in the school holidays but you can still get away from crowded areas. I recommend the local tourist office - just pick up a handful of leaflets. Lots of stately homes including National Trust - they often have fun activity days for children, the beaches are very clean, forestry commission have lots of picnic and walking areas, a boat on the Broads is a good day out as well. There are lots of small things in Norfolk rather than just large activity parks. My kids loved fruit picking.
