Since when did UW agents provide potential customers with any form of Direct Debit information? If you are going to be critical, at least be accurate.
Thanks
Mike
Mike,
If that is the best defence of UW and their selling tactics that you can mount, then 'Clutching at straws' comes to mind!

OK, then, how about commission.
Switching Sites earn a one-off commission if somebody uses them to change providers. The UW "agents" earn their commission by their customers staying with UW. Apart from an initial small sum, the real benefit comes from retention of satisfied customers who are free to leave at any time (apart from the usual restrictions on broadband equipment etc.). Surely this gives them, the agents, a real incentive to make sure that their customers get the support and service that will keep them with UW (even with the membership fee). It's not just about the initial sale, it's making sure that your customers are satisfied on an ongoing basis.

I understand that the company take a very dim view of spamming and will dismiss agents like Mr K Hoo Distributor No 004601 who spam sites with their affiliate link.0 -

This is at odds with Jo88 who tells us that uw reps don't make much money at all from the ongoing commission they get from their friends utility bills:as for the 'fee' your friends get that is a tiny percentage of your bill anyway...
What is a uw rep's definition of "tiny"?
uw reps abusing these forums to push their company really ought to use the same hymn sheet!0 -

Well, here comes another.
Why do you break the rules in your maiden post?
You cannot solicit business via these forums.
And suggesting we dont have any brains as we don't all queue up to join your club hardly seems the best way to overcome all the animosity that your predecessor's have managed to stir up for your company!0
