Motorised Satelite Sytem??

Options
im looking to loose the cost of sky/virgin style tv subscription and am thinking of getting a motorised sattelite system, theres no subscription and it tracks all of the satelite systems that are in range, gives pay per view events and premiership footy matches for free (not that im interested) im just wondering if any one has this type of sytem and wether its any good, im also aware its possable to decrypt certain channels and its not illegal to do so, but dont realy understand whats needed and wether its worth doing.

any advice on what to look for and whether its worth doing would be appreciated,

Hi dad of 4 i would recommend you look at http://www.satellites.co.uk/ or http://www.alsat.co.uk/forum/index.php both sites will give you a good starting point on motorised systems and what they can do.

    Hi,
It depends on what you are looking to watch TBH. Here's another link with info on the easiest to get channels from the UK unless you want a 6ft satelite!

The free to air non-Sky sat services are not worth bothering with. The packages that are worth watching are all encrypted and have to be "hacked" (unlawful) or paid for.

Having said that, some foreign packages are very good value for money with lots of Premiership football, most with English commentary) and original soundtrack movies.
The package I have offers me a choice of 5 Premiership games tomorrow and 4 on Sunday for £260 a year !

i would like one of these systmes also

but im unsure which to go for in regards to getting the biggest selection of premiership games?

moonrakerz..what system have you got installed? and what type of card/package do you subscribe too?

plus buying it from one of those sites isnt hard but getting somebody to install in the birmingham area doesnt look so easy!!

    any advice?

I have a 1M motorised dish, a GB Sat receiver, numerous CAMS & cards, my "legal" card is for the full Digitalb package. (Just watched Man U lose to Pompey - yeah !!!, the Liverpool and Reading games are on at the moment, Chelsea at 1700)

If you are near Brum you will need at least the same size dish, reception can get quite bad as you go further North. My reception (West Wilts) is excellent.

The people I have dealt with most often are:

    http://www.hisat.com/

Very helpful, competitive prices and close enough for me to drive to.

Another good one - who are "experts" in Digitalb are:

    http://www.alsat.co.uk/

At the moment Digitalb is the package for English football - however I would suggest that you don't buy a full subscription now - I would say wait until the new season and see who is best then. Last year it was an Arabic package called ART, so if you had bought a one year card in Mar 2007 you wouldn't have done too well because they lost the rights to the football at the end of the season. I get my card in August.
