Very ingenious, Mira.
I trust you and your partner are at different addresses? Specifically different IP addresses.
Cos Ebay monitor for bids from the same IP as the seller, to prevent people pushing up auction prices by bidding on their own stuff. And people they catch get banned.:eek:0 -

Yes they are different
Cos Ebay monitor for bids from the same IP as the seller, to prevent people pushing up auction prices by bidding on their own stuff. And people they catch get banned.
But in anyway, I thought that ebay are interested in auction style listings where someone is increasing the price in bidding (shill bidding). But in my case it was a buy it now item and it doesn't affect anyone else so I thought that ebay may not be interested to monitor buyitnow items.
I would also like to add the following link from Ebay which says:
"Family members, roommates or employees may purchase items from a seller without violating this policy simply by using purchase options, such as Buy It Now, which do not involve bidding."

Just a thought on this ...
I have never received one of these .. and I buy and sell loads of stuff on eBay every month! ... So ... I checked my eBay preferences and I wasn't signed up to receive special offers! ....
I will now wait & see ... but it may be worthwhile for others who have never had one to check and update their preferences ...
... and see what the Coupon Fairy brings in good time ... :^)LittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -
I wouldn't bother, I just commited to buy an item and the code DOES NOT WORK (candle) depsite being targeted with the code personally. Ebay is a shambles!! Now I have comitted to buy something that I am not prepared to pay full price for. Oh well, an undeserved non paying bidder strike for me then asa well as a negative for non payment....

Just a tip for those of you who don't know what to buy with the £10 off coupon. Here's what we did if you prefer to get some Money CASH

Its my partner who received the coupon. Not me.
I have made a listing on ebay to sell him something I have :P (The cost of the item I have put is 0.99 in Buy it now format and the postage cost I have put is £9.01). And when he used his coupon in Paypal to pay me he got the £10 off applied and here I am with £10 CASH from Ebay.
Thanks ebay for being Generous
I did this with a £200 voucher about a year ago. My mate bought a rusty box from me. Yes £200!! (We where huge powersellers at the time and got the voucher through the rewards scheme).0 -
I used the candle code and it worked even though i haven't had anything from paypal or ebay giving me the codes0
