1. This offer is open to targeted ebay.co.uk registered users who are UK residents 18 years of age or older.
... suppose it works if you are a targeted member

I've just tried this and although I met all the terms and conditions, I got a message saying 'This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account'.
I can't figure out what I've done wrong?
This offer is open to targeted ebay.co.uk registered users who are UK residents 18 years of age or older.
I live in the UK and I'm over 21
One voucher per registered user only. All vouchers must be redeemed by 23:59:59 GMT 20th March 2008.
Only tried to use one voucher
To redeem this voucher, purchase a single item of any value on ebay.co.uk, using PayPal as your payment method. Enter the voucher code (Candle) when you are prompted to during the PayPal payment process.
Purchased an item costing £1.50 on the co.uk site
The voucher value of £5 applies to the final item price, as well as any postage, packaging and any taxes.
+ £2.55 P&P. Total £4.05. It DID say any value including P&P.
The offer is valid only when you pay with, and seller accepts, PayPal.
Yes, the seller accepts Paypal
The voucher is valid only when your eBay email address matches the email address of your PayPal account.
It DOES
The voucher can be redeemed against the payment for one single item only.
I bought a book. If that isn't a single item, I don't know what is.
The purchase you make to redeem this voucher must comply with eBay and PayPal's User Agreements and policies.
I have no idea what this means
The voucher is valid from 00:00:01 GMT 5th March 2008 until 23:59:59 GMT 20th March 2008. The voucher expires on March 20th 2008, unless cancelled earlier in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
I purchased about 20 mins ago. It IS the 5th March, isn't it?
This voucher cannot be combined with any other voucher, site discount, rebate, offer, gift voucher or other promotion.
I didn't even attempt to do this
The voucher has no cash value, cannot be transferred and cannot be forwarded.
Fine by me
The voucher is void where prohibited.
I have no idea what this means
Any refund you may be entitled to receive will not include the voucher or its redemption value.
No refund offered
eBay International A.G. ("eBay") is the organiser of the promotion. eBay may carry out this organisation through its local subsidiaries. I have no idea what this means
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law.
Fine by me
eBay makes no representations or warranties of any kind regarding any product or service provided by any third party in connection with any voucher promotion.
Fine by me
eBay will not be responsible for any third party's performance or failure to perform any services related to any voucher promotion, or for any costs, damages, accident, delay, injury, loss, expense, or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use of the voucher, provided that nothing shall limit eBay's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence.
Personal injury? My feelings are injured, as is my wallet!!
The only thing I can think of is this. I joined eBay ten years ago, before the .co.uk site even existed. It states in my profile that I am a UK user, but am I somehow 'American' by default because I joined at the .com site?? There wasn't any other option back then!
Also, I'm not a 'targeted user', whatever that means
   :mad:0 -
It is a £10.00 discount ..
The problem is that it is targeted ...It will link to your Paypal account ...It isn't a general use discount .
I have used it yesterday ..As I recieved a letter from ebay ..No letter probably means you haven't been targeted this time .0 -

Are different users being targeted with different voucher amounts then?
Yes different users are being targeted with different amounts... if you are not a targeted user you cannot claim with the code...

Just done a search on another thread and some 'targeted users' are being offered £10 discounts using the code 'Circle'0

I got a voucher code for £5 off but i don't want it and my sister tried using it but it wouldn't let her use it so i think it's only redeemable by the person it's meant for otherwise i guess loads can use the same one.0

I was only offered £2.50.0
-
Oh that sucks that it's not for general use - sorry guys!0
