I just received this from Northern Rock:
Anyway, the rate is reducing to 5.31% from 5.41%, including a 6-month introductory bonus of 0.71%.
If you've got some savings either short term or that you will remember to move in 6 months' time, I reckon the Tracker Online is probably a decent place to put it, now they've "done the drop" that all the online savings accounts are currently doing. Any that haven't yet done the drop won't be far behind now, and then they'll all be properly comparable again.
The cheek! "Unique savings pledge", oooh wow. Technically, I suppose it is in advance. But 23 hours is not enough in advance to be able to do anything about it!Dear Customer
Tracker Online rates
Our unique savings pledge ensures that we'll always tell you your new interest rate in advance of any rate change. The purpose of this email is to tell you that the interest rate on your Tracker Online account will reduce with effect from 3 August 2005

Yep it still racks up well for an instant access online account for 6 months.. The transfer time of 3 bank days also looks reasonable..
Still waiting to see for how much longer the monster rate at cahoot can stand.... (5.65%)0 -
