I`ve got a following information from my travel insurance company.
If it is true, it is good news for the person who traveling a lot.:j
================================================== =====
Passengers who flew long-haul with Virgin Atlantic or British Airways may be able to claim refunds of up to £40 for a couple after the two airlines agreed to pay compensation to the victims of price-fixing.
BA has been fined for price-fixing on fuel surcharges and Virgin admitted to breaching the law, narrowly escaping a fine. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic passengers will receive up to $200m (£102m) in compensation after both airlines have come to a legal settlement.
The deal involves 8 million airline tickets sold between August 11 2004 and March 23 2006. To register for your refunds, please visit www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk or if you have mislaid or lost details of your flight call 0800 0430 343.

just came on to post the same
ive flown 2 or 3 times in that period...wonder what proof they require?0 -
I registered to the site and will see what they say.
If you bought the flight tickets from a travel agent, they got your ticket agent coupon, so I think it will be a proof.
If you bought it from online, still the agent of the sate got it.
Or if you still have a bording pass or passenger receipt, usually people through it away after travel, I think it will be a proof.0 -
i booked direct with virgin...all ive got is the stamp in my passport0

Is the above an official website? It does seem quite vague?Gone ... or have I?0

It's ok - the site's genuine, see Martin's blog:

I found my ticket stubs ( DH had kept them ! ) from a BA RTW ticket booked on 07/01/06 which inc. 11 flights some of which were codeshare. It will be interesting to see what I am offered & if the amount I am entitled to claim will be quite obvious or will I have to investigate further ?0

Forgot to say,
Jeanna,
I don't think the dates include your trip if you booked it in 2007. The date of booking is the important one not the date of travel as this is when the taxes would be costed.0 -

Doesn't look like anyone else had a confirmation email - BA/Virgin say they'll only make the payouts once the Courts have approved it but it would've been nice to keep their customers updated :rolleyes:i booked a holiday with virgin last year but they used delta for the flight to florida and i paid this tax. do you know if i would be able to claim.
This only applies if the airline you booked with was Virgin or BA, did you book with the airline or Virgin Holidays? If Virgin Holidays, it won't apply as they're a separate entity to Virgin Atlantic
