Help please- Advice Needed

Hi,
Very grateful for advice on this please. I live abroad but am looking to take my UK spec car back to the UK to sell it. To register the vehicle i need UK car insurance, and expect to need insurance for two - three months while i find a buyer.
I have tried to get some short term insurance quotes but they all seem very high. Does anyone have any suggestions ona company to try for short term cover of this sort. The vehicle is only going to be driven for the occasional test drive and wont be doing any real mileage.
Grateful for any help as my current quote of £193 per month is just way too much!
