Non Disclosure of Subsidence on Buildings Insurance

Hello I would very much appreciate some advice on the situation I find myself in.
In 2005 we had a subsidence claim on our house which was dealt with and fully repaired thorugh our buildings insurance with Nationwide. When it came to renewing this buildings insurance instead of simply extending the insurance I started a whole new application (mainly to get the cashback through quidco!).
This was still with Nationwide and as the question was asked in the application whether we had had a claim on the buildings insurance I answered yes and policy was made.
However, the problem now occurs where we are in the process of selling our house and the buyers want to know whether insurance was continued and whether insurance would be transferable and whether it was obtained under normal rates.
Now having looked at the policy it actually says I have confirmed there has been no claim for subsidence - so I guess the declaration of having a claim on buildings insurance didn't mean for subsidence (even though it was just a general question of having a 'claim').
So should I come clean to current insurers who may then make me pay the difference between would my premium would have been. Or should I just cancel the policy and try to get insurance through somebody else making sure they know I've previously had a claim for subsidence.
Sorry it's a bit long winded but I'm quite confused and quite worried about the possible implications.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Why dont you first see who will insure you with subsidence declared and if you find someone, you can then cancel your insurance with nationwide and then just ask the other company if they would pass on the insurance "if" you were to sell. Make it sound like a general question for a future date rather than your plans.
If it turns out you can't get another insurance I guess you come clean to nationwide, but I think they will just terminate your insurance since you have "lied" which resulted in your paying lower premiums.0 -
Thanks for your advice going2die_rich. I'm having trouble finding someone who will insure me. Even after going through all the quiestions and declaring a subsidence claim when it gets to the end it still says the policy is subject to not having had a subsidence claim

If I do 'come clean' to Nationwide do you think they will still insure me under a new policy with the correct premiums as they were the insurers with wohm the claim was made?
Alternatively does anybody know of a company woh actual would insure me?!
