Ok advice please & sorry if we can't name names! I ordered a fruit basket as part of my Mum's Mother's Day present & it arrived looking great yesterday.
Anyway, first off they left it in front of the house (Where anyone could have taken it but thankfully didn't, even though I sent twice instructions on where to leave it) & then half of the fruit was rotten/gone off.

I e-mailed to let them know & ask if anything can be done & for an explanation, didn't get any explanation or apology & they said take a photo, send it to them & they'll send it on to whoever to be assessed & then send a new fruit basket.

My problem with that is & where you can all advise is;

#1 Isn't it on the retailer to prove the goods *weren't* faulty within the first six months & not the customer to prove they *were*?

#2 Is it fair/reasonable to expect her to buy a disposable camera or a roll of film & have it developed to send them a picture (When it could be *any* fruit & they have no way of proving it was the fruit they sent?)

Also, couldn't the place it came from see it's bad from a picture, why would they need to send it on to know that? Might just be their policy I don't know, they didn't explain, it was just a standard reply.

My Mum does have a camera mobile phone & I asked her to get me a pic before she opened it so I could see it (Obviously she hadn't seen the bad fruit then), but I don't yet know if she threw the bad stuff away, i'd assume so. I don't know if she can upload photos from her phone to the internet as I wanted her to before but we didn't know how & I think she'd have to buy a lead to do it (She has a Siemens CL something, the one with the flower on that's pink & silver)

She doesn't have a digital camera. I realise the company need proof, but can't think how to get a photo to them & have e-mailed to ask. What would you all do? It cost £19.99 & £4.95 for delivery. Sorry it was long winded! Any advice (Even on where to get free films) appreciated, ty

ETA I just took this from their website;

    If you send the picture as a picture message to a phone which doesn't accept picture messages then it generates a link and sends this as a text message to the phone. This way you could go on the link through a computer and download the picture.

    This would cost for a picture message though - normally 20/30p.

    I have just said to my wife, "I hope our daughter doesn't buy anyone flowers from Bunches of Nottingham as they haven't lasted. I know these companies always ask we report things which in "our opinion" are far from satisfactory, but when they introduce obstacles, it's hardly worth it. The best course of action is not to use them again.

    Well they e-mailed back & apologised twice, after I suggested their courier redeliver another fruit basket & could view/take the rotten fruit they suddenly changed their minds & said my Mum could throw away any rotten fruit & they'll redeliver another basket, fresh I hope.

    Anyway, i'm happy with that, will wait & see if it arrives :D
