Will a dvd recorded on a sony dcr dvd505 camcorder play on a sony rdr-gx120?

Looking for a camcorder that will record onto disc that i can take out and play as my current camcorder discs don't work so looking at changing. Thanks for any info.

always helps to add web links than just model numbers when asking a question
looks like the camera records in mpeg 2,and i see your dvd player records in either mpeg1 or 2.so i would assume they would play.
as an aside,the reviews i saw on the camcorder werent great with a poor picture quality?0 -
Thanks for your reply. I've read the reviews and think it should be better than what i currently have (hitachi dz-mv300e). Sorry, so much of technophobe that don't know how to do links!:o0
