in Credit cards
Hi,
Appologies if has already been posted somewhere else - I have a large collection of unused credit cards from all the various balance transfers over the years and so have started a bit of housekeeping by closing dormant accounts.
Barclaycard asked me why I was closing the account. Response was that the account was dormant and that my main cc was Capital One (for the cash back). They said if they offered me 3% cashback would I stay...? As Capital One is now back down to 1% (from initial 4) - it worked as an insentive to stay.
Got the confirmation letter a few days ago and - yes it is 3%, but only for 3 months and maximum of £50 a month (1500 spend). So offer has its limitations but will get more cashback than using Capital One for those three months - so still worth it.
Again, sorry if said before or wrong location. Quite intimidating posting
, only my 2nd attempt.
