Limit when buying foreign currency online ??

hi,
when you purchase foreing currency online with your credit card it is treated as a cash advance. So does that mean you can only buy 300 pound worth of currency per day ?
or can you buy more than that in one day ?

Also if you purchase travellers cheque is that counted as cash advance ?

cheers

First of all, please be patient. Bumping a post after half an hour is uncalled for.

If travellers cheques and forex transactions are treated as cash advances by your cc provider, then the amount allowed will depend on your cash advance facility, which will be determined by your credit score.

thanks , hmm that sounds interesring! But i doubt it will be over 300 pound so i dont think it will be a problem. My credit limit is just under 5 thousand so how much do you reckon my cash advance limit is if i wanted to use it ?

Typically half your credit limit but can vary wildly - there is no substitute for looking at your statement and if it's not there calling your card provider.

Buying currency with a Credit Card is an expensive way of buying currency.;)
