I'm sure they won't drop the price before xmas - maybe middle of next year, but for now I think it's going to be the xmas prezzie.

Cant see a drop for a least a year after release due to the demand.

I think the Woolworths 10% off £161.99 deal is a good bargain... even if there is a price drop after whenever (spring/summer next year I think) it will probably go down to £150... only £12 the difference from the Woolworths deal, which is not so bad.

Well just thought I'd let you know that my new PSP and game arrived safely from Hong Kong today. I didn't have to pay customs on it so they were true to their word. Haven't opened it yet as it's a gift for hubby, but hopefully everything will be fine. Will let you all know if there are any probs.

I have bought my psp from yesasia.com... Its in transit currently. I bought the standard pack (not value pack) for £140 (I think they are only going to sell value packs over here). As you guys already said, theres no import duty with yesasia so thats it all in.

My reasoning for only buying the standard pack is that the value ones come with a rubbish case that i dont want, a 32mb memory stick thats too small and some not very good headphones :)

I got a better case from ebay for about a fiver inc shipping from HK and a 512Mb memory stick again from ebay for 32 inc shipping. I have some decent headphones already. So its slightly more expensive, but way better IMHO :D

Hope this helps someone out there!

Oh and version 2.00 firmware for Jap models (the UK ones will be ver 2.00 at launch) again is a big improvement as it comes with a built in web browser rather than a 3rd party hacked one.

Also, Jap models alegedly have better screens than US (and supposedly UK) models... Oh and supposedly a better wireless range.. If that is true or not I dont know until my one lands...!

Would get those HK based PSP's pretty fast as Sony is starting to sue foreign companies selling them into the UK (and probably Europe as well):

    Well here's the latest.
As you know, I didn't have to pay Customs/Tax etc, so all worked well on that front.
It was hubby's b'day today so he opened it and was absolutely delighted - just like a little kid at xmas - it really was worth the effort. Everything was as it should be, apart from the fact that I didn't get the English manual that I'd requested (you can download that anyway, so no big deal), and the plug adapter I received was a 2-pin European one. This didn't matter anyway as the power cable going into the adapter seems to be a standard one (with a large flat plastic bit with two holes, if that makes sense!). Anyway, found a spare one off an old VCR.
Everything else was perfect, screen looks great. Can't see any dead pixels - think you really have to try and look for them.
The 'piece de resistance' was that when we were just messing about with the wireless connection, it automatically found our wireless network and started updating the device!!! So we were straight onto V2 with no effort at all!!!! :D:D:D
I am really pleased with my purchase from yesasia.com and would definitely recommend them.
Guess what we're going to be doing tonight..... geeking!
    Now fire away the questions!
