sky tv viewing card

Is it possible to use the same sky viewing card in 2 different sky boxes, or does the card have to be registered to a particular box?
(not freeview - but pay monthly )

You wouldn't be able to receive any premium channels unless the card is paired with the sky box..

The cards are paired to the boxes I believe, but only possibly for certain things.

When my box died out-of-warranty, I bought another off of Ebay, and stuck the card in. Nearly all channels were fine, except for ITV2 - which displayed a "this is the wrong card for this box" message and wouldn't let me view it.
I didn't bother phoning Sky about this, as it was only ITV2 and there was nothing on it I wanted to watch.

As others have said, it will work with a few excepted channels, best way to find out is to put it in the other box and see what comes up.

You will not do any harm.;)

That's really weird because I can get everything apart from premium channels, i.e. Sky Sports and Sky Movies. My card hasn't been married to my box for at least 3 years!

I think ITV2 might be free-to-air now anyway, so it wouldn't make any difference if the card was paired or not.
It's worth a go, as said above.. just try your card in a friend's sky box and see if it works - won't do any harm.
