as usual formatting has gone to pot but see red figures. It should be plenty warm during the dat 20C + but possibly a little chilly in the evenings.

This week it will be 19C on Friday and Saturday and through next week.

It could be any weather you care to think of - my mum's brother lives near Alicante for 6 months of the year.

Last year my parents went in April and it was overcast, cold and rained on and off for nearly a week.

They have just come back from this year's stay and it was sunny except for one day, the week before it hadn't been too clever.

If you are going to Torrevieja, don't worry too much about the weather, worry more about your purse/wallet getting nicked.;)

Hmmmm well I will bring a bit of summery clothes as well as some warm clothes as well then...better to be safe than sorry ;)

I've never had my wallet nicked in Torrevieja and honestly that can happen in any touristy city in the world. I know theft can happen there though as it happened to a mate of my father in law while at the market one day....I keep my money in my bra when I go the markets lol :D so no worries there!

:rotfl: It is just that Torrevieja has the highest crime rate in all of Spain.

Still you are abreast of the situation. :D

    Hehe good one :rotfl:

I know theft is high there as it's one of the most popular areas in Spain to go but It 's actually regarded as one of the most healthy places in the world especially for those who suffer from rheumatism, asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory problems. I am just getting over pneumonia so this trip is a holiday that not only will I enjoy but as well as boost to my respiratory system :T

I stay on Torrevieja a good part of the year. The weather has been really good during the day but a bit cold at night,so i would pack a cardigan or a light jacket. Nearer the time look up the local newspaper online The costa blanca news or check up the weather on the net and it will give you some indication. The water will be to cold in April to swim unless your fine and hardy.

As for crime I have lived there for 8 years and not had any problems, but it is like everywhere if you leave it lying around it will walk. The only place I would tell you to be careful is at the Friday market in town.

Sorry to jump on this thread. We're going to Javea first week in april. We've booked a place with a heated pool which we've never had before. Will this make it possible to swim or is the 'heating' still not enough to make it bearable. I don't think we could be classed as 'hardy'!

Well, I've been to Torrevieja quite a few times so I know I know about that Friday Market...went there once and it was just WAY too crowded for me..felt like I was a sardine in a sardine tin
Like I said "I have never been there in April"...usually in mid to late summer and early winter so I guess I will check the weather a week before I go to see what's going on there then.

I'm sure it will beat this yucky rainy, cold and 2-5c. temps :D

Melb, heated pool...you should FINE! Wish we had one when we go...
