It was reported somewhere that EBICO are putting up their gas prices by 18% and 7% for electricity.0 -
it was reported here, then withdrawn, no decision has been made on price increases AFAIK0

minor update on this: I complained to Powergen a while back about what had happened and how their customer service staff had lied and provided mis-information about my tarrifs. Powergens response was a very weak one concerning TXU/Powergen databases being different and that TXU customers can only use certain Powergen tarrifs etc. (yet Powergen are quite happy to Bill you and accept money without too much database problems. I wasn't happy and spoke to them again suggesting that whilst I was happy to pay up anything I owed them to allow me to switch, I though that they could readjust my bill for the last 2-3 years since I was merged from TXU so that my bills were as theys hould have been if I had been on the cheapest tarrif as promised.
Unsurprisingly I heard nothing more from Powergen so I wrote to Energywatch(regulator) and today I got a letter detailing they have taken up the case with Powergen(because they feel Powergens response hasn't been 'fair or appropriate') and until they receive a satisfactory response the complaint stays open. So we shall see how it pans out.
So hopefully may get some0 -

Sue
i have never had any problems with powergen & have been impressed by there service.
Npower on the other hand are a nightmare in my experience, It would take a very cheap tariff to get me back to them0 -

I'll second that I had a terrible time with NPower & had to go to the ombudmen. I closed my account with them, settled a final bill & then 2 years later got another final bill, they said the other final bill wasn't really the final one & they'd had a back log & insisted I pay up. The ombudsmen sorted it out & I got £20 Boots vouchers from NPower to say sorry, so they redeemed themselves, eventually, under duress...0 -
as if by magic Powergen rang earlier to "try and sort out the problems I'd been having". Didn't have time to talk to them though so they are calling back tomorrow...maybe Energywatch do give them a boot up the backside to get a move on

EnergyWatch sorted them out for me too and turned a £115 final bill request for gas into an £8 rebate.:T
Then I went to Scottish Power on a capped rate and glad I did.0 -
well they've pushed through a transfer to Pgen Energy Online even though they are still 'sorting out databases' and a goodwill gesture of £60 to my account..
So result as far as I'm concerned as I reckoned I was about £40 out of pocket by them messing about.
Plus my account is now cleared and as PGen Energy Online is not cheapest anymore I can switch without needing to pay off my account!0
