free family YHA membership

Hi, new post so sorry if it is incorrect. I recently bought a family railcard for around £20 and later received communication regarding special offers in connection with it. One of them was free family membership for The Youth Hostel Association for one year (which is worth more than the family railcard)! the condition is that you purchase your railcard on the official website: http://www.family-railcard.co.uk/buy-train-tickets

Too late for us as ours is now purchased but it is a fab deal nonetheless! Hope this benefits someone...

  • Great spot, but as this is the freebie "no spend required" board it may be better put on the quick grabbit board... ;)
    :D
  • Just out of interest, this will also work with the young person's railcard, even if you use the 50% discount code, and includes international membership. V useful as I'm going backpacking for 3 months :)
  • Hi! I don't suppose anyone is buying a family railcard and not wanting the YHA membership? I would happily accept it if so!! :p

It says they tell you on the confirmation page how to claim the card - has anyone done this and can tell me what the process is?

I'm interested in this offer but couldn't see any mention of it on the website. Doe's anyone know if you just automatically receive the YHA membership along with the railcard? Is there any code to quote? Thanks, Juliet.

Ignore this.....i've just read the previous post!

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Sorry I put this on wrong board - have difficulty navigating site and did not realise there were other boards. For those who could not find link on www.railcard.co.uk you need to follow up by clicking on the type of railcard that you are interested in, then you see the YHA link
