Found £150+ in bank account last week, finally discovered it's from BG where we've over paid in DD over the year. Very nice:beer:

Was also signed up to protect my DD against any price rises...so I'm paying less than I should, have had a lovely rebate, and today I got a nice little letter 'we've reveiwed your payment plan and made an adjustment', my monthly DD has shot up by £20!!!!!!!

Does that mean they'll give me even more money at the end of next year?

(and before anyone sugests it...yes we're looking at switching, got a month, new bill comes into effect in April)

If you are in credit of more than £80 at the end of your plan year it will be automatically be refunded.
When did you sign up for the price protection?
If it was this year, it will be after the price rise, then another 5% on top, which probably explains the £20 rise.
The price protection is for the price per kWh, not your monthly DD - if your consumption goes up, so will your DD.
Also, if you are looking to leave, check out if there is an exit charge, just so you can factor it in to your calculations.

    Which tariff are you on?

Price Protection 2009, Price Protection 2010 or Price Promise?

If as you say your protection finishes this April(??) then prices are going to increase; so this presumably is why they have increased your DD?
