Powergen / E.ON Prompt payer discount?

I am on Quarterly Cash/Cheque, can't go Direct Debit for a number of reasons.

I know British Gas have a discount if you pay the bill within 14 days of receiving it.

Does anyone know whether E.ON have such a discount.

Thanks

Sorry to burst the bubble, but British Gas dropped this discount about 18 months ago.
If you can't go DD, have you looked at other discounts?

Thanks for the BGas update SwanJon.

That makes it even less likely that Powergen / E.ON have a prompt payer discount.

    Hi
E.ON do have a prompt payment discount of 3% (i think) for customers who pay quarterly. You need to pay within 14 days of the bill date. They've just recently introuduced it (in the last month)

give them a ring to find out that exact amount of discount.

    Thanks for that dellxps.

I had called Powergen / E.ON about this but did not get a firm answer from the call centre representative.

I'm gonna make sure to pay my bill as soon as it arrives due within the next week.
Will post my findings based on the discount I get on my next bill.

E.ON used to give a discount to customers who paid quarterly just for simply being with e.on (don't know why they just didn't reduce the unit rates, but anyway).

Because there were so many customers paying late or not paying at all they now say that you only get that discount taken off your next bill if you paid the last one within 14 days.

    Hi just to update
I received a 3% discount calculated before VAT.

    This seems to be a
    "prompt payer discount"
but twice when I have asked the call centre people they have said that the discount is a
    dual fuel discount, :p
basically they don't know what they are talking about, call centres nothing new... heh?

    Thanks for the help
Hope to always pay my bill on time:money:.... or more to the point within 14 days. :rotfl:

in the call centres we have to call it a dual fuel discount, but yes it is a prompt pay discount and if you dont pay within 14 days the discount is not added.

as mentioned this has come about to make more people pay on time.

at the call centres a lot of us know what we are talking about but it doesnt help when the company keep changing rules on tariffs, discounts etc every other week and are normally only told about any changes either the day before or on the day itself 2 seconds before the start of a shift.

but we grin and bear it!!! :D

    Thanks for that.

Shall bear it in mind next time I get the wrong info from a call centre.:p

Though to be fair E.ON / Powergen is generally quite good. Better then BGas whose misinformation cost me being on a Fixed Tariff back in Sept 2005!!
And that were fixed until 2010!!!
That is why I switched from them to E.ON.
