Can I just add that they dropped the rate just a week or so ago. Our payment has went down by £25 a month and our FA said they are actually set to go further down soon.

I have just checked the website and cant see any changes, the last was the 26th of feb. However I have a feeling an email may have gone around as I was leaving the office so I cant check until tomorrow! If you have an offer you will be fine.

Dan - when you say, if you have an offer you will be fine, what do you mean?

I am having my valuation done with Halifax tomorrow, and then its just a matter of sending out the mortgage offer if thats ok. Everything else has been approved.

Could I now loose the rate, because I haven't had an offer??

I was under the impression I had secured my rate (and LTV - because I know they are getting rid of the 97% LTV which mine will be!)... am I missing something?

No change at present. As stated, they dropped them recently.

According to today's Metro, Halifax (and Abbey) are raising their rates today, but only for new customers.
