Insurance help required please

Hi,
A van crashed into me on a roundabout and broke my hand. My insurance company have said that the road was a single lane carriageway so I was liable. However, I live right near the roundabout and I know the van was lost and driving dangerously approaching the roundabout. He didn't see me as I think he was on the phone. Also, he turned right thereby causing the collision. I have appealed for a reassessment. Can anyone give me any help please? I don't know why the Insurance company are being so unhelpful when it was clearly not my fault. I lost my job over this and am still suffering with a broken hand.
BTW, I was riding a motorbike.
Thank you.

Need a bit more info on the roundabout layout to comment. Do it like a clock face with you approaching from 6 o'clock.
From the way you describe it above it sounds like you are going from 6 to 12 - straight over.
If the van driver came from 12 and turned right towards 9 (your perspective remember) then he is fine. You should have given way to him as he is coming from your right.
Like I say, please clarify.0
