Epson Stylus DX4050 Problems

I have this printer. Didn't want a cheapy nor a really dear one, as I use it mainly for recreational purposes.
But the printing quality is really bad! I need to print out a few pages of stuff for a friend of mine and there are lines all over the text and the text is faint. The pink blue and yellow cartridges are practically full and the black cartridge is at least 75% full. It often goes like this. What do I need to do to make it clearer?

The cleaning heads procedure should be described in the manual. Also, there's usually a diagram somewhere on the printer itself that tells you how to do that (check the inside of the panel you lift when you want to change cartridges). The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

Hi LouBlue hope this helps, this is how I get to the head cleaning part in my Epson R265 but it should be similar
Go to Control Panal
Printers and Faxes
click on Epson DX should open a new window
click on Printer on the top menu bar click on Properties
Should open an Epson settings screen,
click the General Tab look for a button that says Printing Preferences, click that should open another Epson screen
click on the Maintenance tab look for Head Cleaning run that,
then run Nozzle Check, if still gaps run head cleaning again
hope it makes sense:oPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying. Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  &
