value for money accommodation in Aberdeen

Hi,
Can anyone advice on cheap accommodation in Aberdeen - I'm looking to book for one weekday night in August but having no luck.

Looking for something cheaper than the current £70 for a double room at the Travelodge.

Aberdeen is an expensive city for hotels particularly midweek. Had a quick look and haven't found anything less than the £70 you have found for the Travelodge

If you can find anything on hotelopia there are codes for 15% and 10% off

  • I stay in Aberdeen quite regularly and I would say the best idea is to go to the Visit Scotland (Scottish Tourist Board) website or call them and ask them to have a look for you. They can book you a room for a £4 charge or you could ring round some B&Bs yourself. There are lots, you'll find something around £30-40 with a decent breakfast too. There is also a Euro hostel of some description but I have no idea what it's like.

I work in Aberdeen and it can sometimes be hard to get a room mid-week at any price let alone a bargain.

You could try the Douglas Hotel and I've heard the Station Hotel sometimes has good rates, but that could have been at a weekend. There is also the Premier Travel Inn, but that would be a similar price to the Travelodge.

I've seen the Adelphi Guesthouse recommended on another site and it was £56 for a 4 bedded room B&B, but that was just over a year ago.
  • As others say, Aberdeen is a really expensive city these days. There seems to be very little difference in midweek and weekend rates, the hotels are always full, mainly because of the amount of oil workers and visitors. Luckily we have 2 or 3 Company Houses that we use :D

Try some of the following, Ive used them in the past, just adjust the dates to suit:-

Your best bet would be a Bed & Breakfast as most hotels are booked up by oil companies as it is only one night you need. Loads of them around Bon Accord Street, Springbank Terrace etc.

Also remember to check reviews on www.tripadvisor.com and/or to add your own reviews once you have stayed there.

You could try the hotel at Aberdeen University which is being used for student accommodation at the moment but will be available in the summer. It used to be very good lodge type accommodation but may be a little worse for wear if students have been living there.
