Hey everyone,
I purchased an attachment for my mum's kenwood chef on 11/2, in advance for mothers day...
So all excited yesterday I gave it to her only to discover she has the chef 'classic' and this attachment won't fit it.... !!!!!!!!!!
Not a problem I thought, so I emailed Goshopdirect last night, they replied this morning to call them to arrange the return. I did this first thing this morning only to be told that as it was over 7 days from the delivery there is NOTHING they will do about it.
I explained it was a present for mothers day so obviously it wasn't tried out til yesterday but they just don't give a hoot.. I also explained that I didn't want a refund I would like to exchange it for an icecream maker and that obviously I would pay the return postage, but they just replied that there was NOTHING they would do about it.
WHAT A BUNCH OF TIGHT FISTED YOU KNOW WHATS!!
I cannot afford to just have this and I now cannot afford to buy another present for my Mum..
GUTTED....
Any thoughts on this?? Any advice??
I have mailed the complaint dept but no response as yet....
Anyone need a food processor attachment for their Kenwood Chef???

Thoughts are that they could offer more service wise but there isnt anything illegal or inappropiate about a 7 day return in the circumstance of customer choosing the wrong good
You are on a hiding to nothing and need to put it down to experience
Its imperative you know what you need and what your ordering when completing a transaction
Maybe we should start a supplier vent board for people who want to unfairly criticse for their errors0 -
Unfortunately I cannot afford to put it down to experience.. So because they are mean and tight I am stuck with a product I cannot use and cannot afford to pay out for another....
Yes it was my error but come on, where is the customer service here, where is the understanding, where are the allowances for presents being bought????
They have the same attitude for over the Christmas period too....
Still no reply as yet to my complaints email.0 -
Why not put it on ebay and see if you can recoup soe of the moneywhere are the allowances for presents being bought????
In the 14 day return policy
You ordered the wrong one, they sent what you ordered.0 -
Actually its only a 7 day returns policy.... But what I meant was, I bought this just after Feb pay day.. I don't earn a lot so I thought I'd get it early, be organised while I had the money and so it was all here and ready for mothers day. Just trying to be good... Come on ITS A PRESENT bought in advance...
I explained all this to them hoping to appeal to their better nature - but they don't appear to have one... If I just wanted a refund then maybe I could understand it.
Also, before they said no, they did say they would get it picked up at a charge of £9.99, I said I would return it via the post office, recorded delivery as would more than likely be cheaper, she went off and asked and then came back and said no wouldn't accept the return as was out of 7 days... So they were going to before I mentioned returning the item myself...
Also want to mention, when I mailed them they replied giving a land line number to call to arrange the return, when I called the lady wasn't their and I was told to call back on an 0845 (ish) number. I said I couldn't dial those numbers and the guy was a little off with me... Probably the same guy who she went off to ask about me posting the item back myself!!!
As for Ebay, I may have to but WHAT a pain in the butt!!!0 -

They have a returns policy and that is as far as it goes
They are not tight or mean, they are a business going about their trade, they should not and cannot be held liable for others mistakes
Not every company is loaded, and costs such as this are not always acceptable to some, especially smaller traders
You dont have much choice here but to accept the lesson0 -
I bought this just after Feb pay day.
That has nothing to do with their terms and conditions.
To be honnest they arent doing anything wrong and i dont think they are being off or however you put it
companies get ripped of by people using products then sending them back, then they cant sell them on, thats why they have strict returns policiesAs for Ebay, I may have to but WHAT a pain in the butt!!!
Not really! your not that bothered about getting the money back then if its a pain0 -
Thanks for all your replies... I have just spent the last half hour listing the food processor on Ebay and hopefully it will sell...
A lesson learned for sure, I just hate losing....0 -
Is this yout listing on ebay item number 280205946066
If it is youve put argos by mistake
Hope you get it sold so you can get your mam somthing elseNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
Oh darn it!
How annoying!
I can understand you frustration, but of course can also understand the companies T&C's.
I hope you get the majority of your money back at least.
I must admit to checking the returns policy before I buy gifts, but that doesn't mean that I've not been caught out before.
I've bought more than one item off eBay without reading the listing properly - a classic example was when I bought a replacement steel bowl for my KitchenAid - I bought a blimmin bowl for the professional model in error.... grrrrr (that was about a year ago and I've still not got around to listing it - anyone want one? haha) - oh and another time I bought a Clinique facial scrub (obviously brand new) and when it came it was a sample size (I'd paid moreorless the full price) - I checked the listing, and I'd just not read it properly - my mistake! (was still pee'd off though - but only with myself!)All posts made are my own opinions and constitute neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
