HSBC does outsource, but as yet First Direct don't.

First Direct came top in the Watchdog great customer service poll, I think HSBC was way down on the list, I'll have to check that!

That's fair enough, never dealt with First D so have to believe you there, HSBC must be bottom for sure. I have heard from others, too, that First Direct is good. I am happy with my natwest tho :o

I really don't mean this in a racist way and please do not take it as such but being able to talk to english people who speak the language and understand what you are asking, and are courteous, makes all the difference, doesn't it?

Couldn't agree more. It is very frustrating to deal with someone who is the other side of the world and trying to pretend that they are in Stoke. Alos the western names. What is the point of that? We know your Indian.

Yes sir, yes sir we understand, we here at blah de blah bank treat our customers with respect would you like us to do a finacial review with you and help you over these temporary set backs. Great news we can help by consoidating..........etc etc etc.......No extra cost infact there's a reduction the only drawback is it's over a slightly longer period but don't worry about that if you pay ontime for 12 months we can then re negociate to bring the peroid down....... 12 months on.....Hi mr Smith it's your yearly review......Great news we can consolidate etc etc etc etc etc!

Later that night in the Bank

I have never had any bad experience from any bank, but thats because I have always been fortune to be able to keep my account in the black..just. and have never incurred bank charges....if you play fair then they do, they are a business not a charity.

I am not saying bank should treat customers who are unable to pay unfairly, but they are there to make a profit, we simply have to teach the DFWers not to make it so easy for them to make huge profits from charges etc, and how to curb there spending by posting their SOAs.

:rotfl: :rotfl: so true. but apparently it's illegal for them to give false names... is it true?

My favourite is "You're through to Prakash"... and then a few minutes later " I am based in Birmingham" and then when you ask to be put through to their manager, it's a "Rajesh" and their manager or the other manager is based in their Milton Keynes office allegedly, and is called "Sharija" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, for me it was that they reversed an unauthorised direct debit and ensured me I will incur no overdraft charges because of this "glitch" which wasnt even their fault, it was the gym's who charged me even tho i cancelled my membership weeks ago...

I know what you mean though.

Sorry but BT have to one of the worst for utter crapness - totally unhelpful despite their claim that they have 'award winning customer service' - when I pointed out that they were hardly award winning, they said oh yes ma'am we are. To which I said, no, you're not, you're dreadful!

Also completely rubbish are Pipex, complete waste of space in my humble opinion!

Merlot I was like you believe it or not!

When Lloyds offered me 'you can go platinum' about 5 years ago I acepted to gain the add ons. And to be honest I fell hook line and sinker. Then I watch a documentary on how Lloyds are selling these accounts and the benefits to them. The documentary followed exactly the format and techneques they used on me....did I feel a t1t or what!!!!! and I'm sorry to say i'm no mug well I used to say that! Yes they are there to make a profit but we 'but we not in the know' joe public are dupped every time.

P.s. Nat west were the first high street bank to out source in India. The first High street bank to remove personal managers from branch. the first bank to start closing branches and put them inside other banks??

Dont know what natwest did in the past but the two girls I spoke to today were definitely not in india and oozed the ability and the willingness to help. I actually could hear them smiling on the phone. Can it be that I had picked two of their best CSAs accidently??? I am not easily impressed by customer service, but today I was.
