mind you on the flip side.
we had the old edinburgh infirmary imn the city centre.
a handful of spaces for parking as it was an old victorian hospital.
so going to A&E you had to drive around the streets looking for parking.
now we have the new ERI with huge car parks & facilities.

alright free parking would be great but in edinburgh anything car based costs

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Our local HA had a rubbish leader, sacked her for incompetence and paid her off with 1/4 million.

  • No doubt any shortfall in revenue will be made up by taxes, paid for the most part, by English taxpayers.

I am English and living in Wales so i suppose you're right, us 'English' will be paying for it with our taxes... (as well as the Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish and so on). I suppose the 'English' taxes were paying for the Scottish parliament too? or was that British taxes?
All this political correctness confuses me- I thought we were the UNITED Kingdom?:p

Not since New Labour decided it would be better if we were the Dis United Kingdom

But since you are living in Wales don't you benefit from the free prescriptions and eventually the free car parking?

good call. and I get the feeling the english are getting shafted by scotland/wales re. taxation. but maybe they've got a point. free higher educ., free oap care in scotland. and now free nhs parking in wales.

really don't want to get too 'socialist' about this but shouldn't we all get a piece of the action, even if we pay a tad more in the way of (gggrrrr) taxes?

oh God. hope I haven't started something here...............

We live in Wales and our local hospital has contracted out the parking concession to a private contractor until 2032.

So roll on the next 24 years.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
