You could always try referring to all the advice you have been given on this subject, and that of buying a Ford Ka, in all your posts over the last nine months.

You obviously have no intention of actually moving out.

Actually I have no choice but to move out in the next 6 months - basically being kicked out so for once I am taking comments on board and sorting my life out instead of just talking about it.

Being young is very confusing sometimes.

I do hope so. There are lots of things you only learn by trying them and making mistakes. That is the point at which you will get lots of help and advice here, even from me;) .

I'm not 'picking' on you, I just get frustrated when people ask for advice they don't either need or intend to act on when there are plenty of people on here who desparately need advice.

    I wish you luck.

I would second the advice to get a house with a lounge. It can cause all kinds of unexpected problems and reasons to get !!!!ed off if you don't!

For a good website I would recommend www.moveflat.co.uk . It has houseshares and single flats, studios etc. The guy who runs the site (ad free!) won't let ads on unless they have a minimum level of information, which is really good. However gumtree has lots more ads, and in my experience the ads on moveflat do tend to shift pretty quickly as the site has such a good reputation and there's so much info, people know straightaway if the place looks good or not!

Thanks for all the advice guys

I am going to approach this with more determination and confidence

    :T
  • I'd say these were the one's to avoid; there's always a power imbalance i.e.. they dictate how clean/how much/too much noise/how much heating/how many people round. They also generally only have you there to pay their mortgage and resent the intrusion - plus usually think they have the right to intrude. .
    That's a rather sweeping generalisation.
You also get a house normally with better facilities - Working, not being tied into a contracted rent situtation allows people to find out what the area is like. Worst case, you move into a houseshare and sign a 6 months contract. The next day you find out you living next to a crack house and you flatmate is best friends. 6 months rent to pull out before you start looking for another place.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:
