Confused? I am

We need to sort out our car insurance and would like to know your experience of the comparison sites. There seem to be so many. We usually call around several companies (saga, AA, NU etc.,) and then play one off against the other for the best prices. I had a look at confused over the weekend and spent ages filling in all the details but, on the whole, the results were no better than those from the calls we've already made. Where there were better prices (but not significant), these were from companies I've never heard of. I'd love to hear what your experience has been, what are the pit falls of using comparison sites, your recommendations on sites you've found useful - or not - or been frustrated by. Also, is it easy to compare like policies with like? Many thanks
