Annoyed at B&Q!!!!!!!

Well I thought I was getting a bargain when I succesfully ordered a Ben Nevis at £150 odd- how wrong was I? It arrived this week with parts missing- the 4 supports would you believe! I have telephoned on 3 occassions and emailed asking for replacements. They ignored the email, and each time I rung they said yes they would get the parts couriered, but upon checking the courier they had not record of our requests!! So I'm doubtful as to whether I'll get these suports now, but I fully intend to take it further:(

Why am I so unlucky? I always missout on bargain, and when I finally get one,it turns out like this

I'm afraid that these people are muppets - I cannot go into B&Q without finding something wrong and having a ruck. I had one this morning about mis-pricing. Whilst the person was sorting me out, someone asked him for a pole for a elux window. They'd seen it on the B&Q website, phoned and checked that it was in stock in this store and was told by someone in the store that the were near where where we were, but despite this he was adamant that the Web often had items which were not in all stores and they'd have to buy it off the web - he didn't bother checking for the item and it wasn't even his department. These people are .............

Good luck - see if you can find the manufacturer, they might help - I once bought a BBQ with parts missing - it was cheap! - I wanted it for spare parts - I then thought I'd try to buy the missing parts from the manufacturer - I contacted them and they told me that they always get problems with missing parts from places like B&Q - they asked me to list the missing parts and sent them free of charge, with an apology.
  • there is a lot of confusion caused by the fact that one of their couriers is called Deliver to Home and B&Q s own transport is called Deliver to Home and they both blame each other when it goes wrong!!!! My Ben Nevis was also delivered today with broken parts luckily they are easily replaceable but i really am agast at their customer service

Me & OH went into B&Q yesterday to buy a 'bit' for the shower. We found the bit we needed on the clearance shelf. Took it to the till and were told that as therewas no bar code on it they couldn't possibly sell it to us!

I hate B&Q - it's known as Purgatory in our house.
  • Don't bother going there it really is an appalling badly run outfit..I think actually they used to be quite good but got greedy..Far better (and cheaper) alternatives around e.g Wickes for the serious DIYER & Wilkinsons who in my experience stock a lot of comparable B&Q stuff for around half the price!

I must be very lucky because I have never had a problem with B&Q. I have always found their staff to be helpful (almost to a fault were you are trying to get away from them) and their prices are always competitive. With all this luck I think I will go and enter the lottery and have a game of poker :D:D
