Humming sound from immersion heater when filling with water.

It's taken me a month to suss this out.
When I turn the hot tap on in the kitchen then a few seconds later I hear buzzing sound. At first I thought that this was a washing machine in the flat upstairs. Over time I realised that it always happened when I filled the sink. The other day I was in the bedroom whilst I filled a bucket with hot water and realised that the noise comes from the immersion heater.
I guess that it's the input valve resonating. Could it be partially blocked with hard water deposits?
I have economy 7 heating in my flat. All hot water comes from the hot tank with immersion heaters in it. I only run the overnight Econ 7 element.

It sounds like the ball valve " hissing " as it re-fills the header tank to me, if it is, there is nothing to worry about.;)0

does sound like the old ballvalve problem as other poster said, best way to solve it is to swap it for a good new one, only cost 3 quid ish from local merchants and are easy to change0
