Does anyone know of extra benefits a carer can claim.

carers can claim carers allowance, this can include some payments for children etc as well, a carer can claim carers allowance even if they are income support etc they get a premium for it0

It's the Princess Royal Trust for Carers website and there is a whole host of info on there.
Check out whether or not you have a carers centre near you. If you do, go along to one of them, they'll help you do an income maximisation review to access all the support to which you are entitled. If there's not one near you, give the nearest centre a call. The people who work there are just fantastic and will be able to provide help specific to your situation.
