I've just been through all the comparrison websites and they all tell me that switching to eon would save me around £149 on dual fuel on online energy extra saver 5.

Plus via quidco £ 55 cashback

Anyway after compareing the price of Kwh units British Gas is cheaper so how am I saving then the £149 with B Gas I am on New Click Energy 2 tariff.

Below are the prices:

My British Gas units are:

Next 384 kwh @8.641

Am I missing something here?

It's been a long day and sorry for the state of this post but I'm a wee bit frustrated and I think I can't see the wood for the trees as they say!!

Should I believe what all the comparison websites say and switch?

Any advice would be great :)

Again sorry for the state of the post!!!

As the two companies are not identical in how the prices are calculated, i think you would need to take your last bill for both gas and electric and calculate how much you would of paid based upon the actual units you used.

    I'm just seeing trees too!
Maybe it's the shock I had when I added up the last years bills (£1600) because I couldn't figure out the pricing either. Why can't we just pay a set price per unit full stop?
I've always been with British gas and Southern electric (quarterly bills). I tried to change some years back but had some problems.
All the comparrison sites say that E-on can save me £340ish (never the same exact figure??). I know I will save money paying by Direct debit, but not £340.
I decided to change anyway. I have gone direct to E-on via quidco (tracked £55 within 15 minutes) and although I never go to Tesco I have sent off for a clubcard to collect the points (can't hurt!).
I would love some tips on how to get my husband and 21 year old to turn things off, showing them the bills didn't work.

There are 2 tarrifs with eon energy online extra saver 5.

One with a standing charge and one without. grolsch30, your BG units appear to be no standing charge

    Just received my welcome letter

There is a massive 20.7% discount from E.on made up like this:

6% for paying by monthly DD

    3% Dual fuel DD discount

11.7% discount for managing the account online until at least April 09.

    Hope that helps
