How to make MS Word: English (uk)

Title says it all really- I have changed it to English (uk) and clicked default and ok- only for it to revert back to English (us)

How do you change it so it is permanent

Word uses a default template, called Normal.dot, whenever you create a new document.

The language setting is associated with this template, so it's not a general option Word stores.

You need to open Normal.dot, change the language to English UK, then save that file.

You will probably find Normal.dot in the following location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

where XXXX is your account or computer name.

ALso make sure that in control panel all the regional and keyboard are set as default to UK English!

    So click on Control Panel
    > Regional Options or Similar
    > Look through each of the tabs to make sure everything is as it should be for dates / time / money and of course the language (input locale i believe?!)
